Joshua Deeds

United States Marine Corps Veteran | Veterans Ministry Leader
Joshua Deeds is a husband, father of four, Marine Corps veteran, and servant leader who continues to invest in the lives of fellow veterans long after his military service ended.
Married to his best friend for more than 26 years, Josh describes his family as one of the greatest sources of strength throughout his life’s journey.
In 1999, Josh joined the United States Marine Corps. What initially began as an opportunity to pay for college and challenge himself would become more than a decade of military service.
When asked what service taught him, Josh’s answer was simple:
“Tenacity, Loyalty, Integrity.”
Those lessons would be tested through significant challenges. During his military career, Josh sustained combat-related injuries that ultimately led to a medical retirement and a 100% disability rating.
Despite those hardships, Josh found strength in the people closest to him.
“God, my wife, and my children.”
Today, Josh views freedom through a deeply personal lens.
“Freedom means everything. I am able to serve God today because of the freedom my brothers fought and died to preserve.”
His journey eventually led him toward a renewed sense of purpose and calling.
When asked what he is most proud of, Josh’s answer was immediate:
“That I gave up my pride and submitted to Christ.”
Today, Josh serves as the Military Ministry Liaison at Trace Church in Colorado Springs, walking alongside veterans who are struggling and helping them find support, purpose, and hope.
For the next generation, his message is clear:
“The military is a job. However, God is THE PURPOSE.”
